In mid-July 2020, the shipowner Carnival Corporation sold for scrap the cruise ships Carnival Inspiration (24-years-old) and Carnival Fantasy (30-years-old). Both vessels will be dismantled and recycled at Aliaga Ship Recycling Facility (near Port Izmir, Turkey). Use the Carnival Inspiration as a jumping off point for an exciting, fun and, well, “inspiring” vacation. This ship offers the classic comfort of a Carnival ship with a variety of staterooms, from an inside cabin to the romantic balcony staterooms and spacious suites. However, you probably won’t spend much time in your room because you’ll be exploring the beautiful features of the ship like the Monte Carlo Casino and two-story Paris Lounge.

While there was not a movie theater aboard Carnival Inspiration, there was a traditional theater. The main theater was called the Paris Lounge, which hosted day and evening shows and events, including musicals, games, and parties. Other renovations came in 2016, when the ship received new dining options, among other changes, in Portland, Oregon, as well as in 2018. Another dry dock was scheduled to take place in 2021, but, obviously, that dry dock was cancelled as the ship was sold for scrap in mid-2020. For example, Carnival Inspiration was the very first cruise ship to receive an Evolutions of Fun makeover, in 2007. The Evolutions of Fun initiative refit quite a few Carnival ships and lasted through 2010, costing about $250 million total.

Verandah Deck featured 26 balconied demi-suites with lofty views and on the Atrium terrace, the children’s playroom. The bars serviced the pool area, while the far aft end of this level was dedicated to the Brasserie Bar and Grill with its Art Nouveau-inspired purple tubular ceiling. The upper level of the Paris Lounge began another full deck of public areas on Promenade Deck. Beyond the third tier of the Grand Atrium were the rainbow-inspired Monte Carlo Casino on the port side and Inspiration Boulevard, the enclosed promenade that connected the remaining public spaces on the starboard side.
